It’s important that a Support Coordinator is trustworthy and reliable and has the expertise and experience to ensure you receive the best support, and have choice and control.

- What is your experience and expertise in disability support coordination? Inquire about your Support Coordinator’s background and qualifications in the field. How many years experience have they had? Do they hold qualifications and have the necessary certifications to work with the NDIS?
- What services and supports are available to me under my NDIS plan? Get a comprehensive list of services and supports you are eligible for based on your plan.
- How do you choose the most suitable service providers for my needs? How wide is their network of providers, and what is their selection process? Will the Support coordinator declare and avoid any real or perceived conflicts of interest?
- What strategies can I use to maximise the use of my NDIS budget effectively? How will the Support Coordinator help you with budgeting and financial management strategies that will optimise your funding?
- How will the Support Coordinator help you advocate for your needs within the NDIS system? Understand how the Support Coordinator will help you advocate for yourself to ensure your needs are met.
